Overview

Our client is an innovative company of next generation mattress purveyors.

They needed an e-commerce site specifically for providing their customers with an easy way to browse through a wide range of mattresses and other quality sleep products and purchase at competitive prices.
The e-commerce website needed to have all the good and relevant features and functions to let the users browse, short-list, and buy products with utmost ease in addition to having an excellent user experience.
They also needed to improve the overall look and feel of the website.

Challenges

As the e-commerce setup was specifically designed for mattresses and sleep accessories, it was a must for the site to be responsive to function smoothly across different devices along with offering an absolute seamless user experience.

The site was expected to hold a highly specific search functionality for the users, clear navigation, and an easy online payment process.
An admin panel had to be implemented to let the superuser(s) manage all the contents, pages, blog, and products of the e-commerce platform.
There were also multiple on-page issues that needed to be fixed.

Implementation of Plan

To embark upon the project, we began with ‘Project Understanding’ process, wherein we discuss and note down all the requirements of the client with the attention to every requirement in granular detail. After getting the detailed requirements specified by the client, the design team began with the UI mock-up creation for the home page, product listing page, product detail pages, etc.

The E-commerce site would support 3 types of users:
  • The Website Admin: The users who manage the entire e-commerce website, all the contents, orders, products, users, etc.
  • Registered Users: The users who login to their account and purchase products, view previous orders, ask for support related to product purchase/payments, manage own profile, etc.
  • Guest Users: The users who browse the websites for products, contact via the the enquiry form, purchase items without logging in to the site, etc.
Front-End
We created a homepage inclusive of the business logo, rotating featured product banner, buying guide, new arrivals, product suggestions, reviews, etc. and the respective header and footer sections.In the header section (common across all pages), we added the options to Sign-In/Create Account, View Cart, category navigation, Live Chat option, etc.Similarly, for the footer section (common across all pages), we added menu navigation to the the About Us page, Privacy Policy, Sitemap, Social Media links, etc.We created Product listing pages with breadcrumb navigation and left and right panels for filtering and sorting products based upon categories, sub-categories, price and user reviews.For Product Detail pages, we enabled breadcrumb navigation, a product image panel to show multiple images of a product, product name panel to show product ratings, name and short-description, etc.We also enabled a detailed product description tab which opens a section displaying a detailed description of the product to the users.In addition, we created a Login & My Account page for the registered users, a contact page for users to send a queries or suggestions, a New User registration page, View Cart page, Checkout page, etc.
Back-End
In the back-end, we built an admin panel which enabled the user to manage the entire e-commerce site and blog with an end to end access to all the sections and components.
It consists of:
  • Secured Super-Admin Login
  • Admin Dashboard
  • Product Manager Section
  • CMS Section
  • Users Manager Section
  • Blog Manager Section
We also integrated a secured payment gateway supporting multiple payment service providers to ensure a hassle-free payment process for the users.To let the admin respond to the user queries via Live Chat option, we built an an intrinsic messaging system within the super admin panel.We did thorough code reviews and several rounds of testing at every stage of the development process in order to steer clear of any any flaws and glitches in the e-commerce platform.We specially adhered to SEO guidelines for site speed and kept it below the threshold for the related SEO benefits. Also, we took special care while designing the UI to offer an excellent experience to the users while they navigate through the website, view products, manage profile or make payments.The on-demand hiring model and dedicated resource options let us cut down our client’s development costs down by 50% ultimately adding to their profits.
