TuTopics is an online learning platform aimed at revolutionizing learning and teaching opportunities. The client wanted us to develop this e-learning system using our expertise and experience in online learning management system development.

During the pandemic, with most children confined to their homes and young graduates facing limited income prospects, the demand for e-learning solutions soared. However, the Arab countries lacked a comprehensive brand capable of providing online classes and income opportunities for tutors.

In response, TuTopics emerged as a platform connecting students with qualified tutors for online learning sessions. Serving regions including Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and Dubai, TuTopics offers a diverse range of subjects taught by qualified and experienced tutors online. Thus, TuTopics sought Brainium’s expertise to transform their vision into reality.

The Challenges We Faced Along the Way

We aimed to develop a cutting-edge e-learning platform meeting TuTopics' speed, security, and reliability requirements. The target audience encompassed students across various educational levels and demographics, along with potential tutors seeking income opportunities. However, there were several challenges that we had to encounter -

High Scalability Requirements
TuTopics had an extensive and varied user base, including students and tutors across different countries with different educational needs. Their user base kept growing, but they couldn’t scale up at the same rate. This led to performance issues.

Security and Data Privacy
TuTopics was handling lots of sensitive data related to the students and tutors on their platform. Unfortunately, their security measures were lacking. This put all the sensitive data on their servers in jeopardy.

Cross-Border Payouts
TuTopic’s payment system needed to be upgraded since the company was dealing with payments across the globe. Their current system was not user-friendly.

User Experience & Interface Design
TuTopic’s existing design was quite outdated. They needed a revamp to attract tech-savvy students and tutors while also being easy to navigate for those with limited technical skills. Finding a solution that would be a balance between these two was quite a challenge for our team.

Our Primary Approach for This Project

Our strategy involved leveraging cutting-edge technology to create an intuitive and user-friendly platform that would enhance the online learning experience for both students and tutors. We prioritized scalability and flexibility, allowing TuTopics to easily expand its offerings and adapt to evolving market trends. Additionally, we focused on implementing robust security measures to safeguard user data and ensure a secure learning environment. Our strategy centered on delivering a licensed e-learning solution that could accommodate one teacher at a time, ensuring optimal resource utilization.

To tackle this novel challenge, we adopted an innovative approach, focusing on out-of-the-box solutions.

Extensive research was conducted to address critical aspects such as generating meeting links and managing Zoom licenses for seamless integration. Although we used Zoom meetings, the challenge was to manage the Zoom licenses. Additionally, we also explored a cross-border payout feature to facilitate financial transactions.

Our Primary Solution for This Project

Our solution involved meticulous planning, design, and implementation phases. The design process alone spanned 175 hours, prioritizing user experience and interface intuitiveness. Implementation required 725 hours of development, leveraging the latest technologies to ensure speed, security, and robustness.

Here are the factors that we planned to address on a priority basis -

Intuitive and User-Friendly Design
We wanted to streamline the UI and UX design. Our goal was to create a platform that was easy to navigate and was accessible to those who are not so familiar with the latest tech.

Flexible and Scalable Architecture
We carefully chose the tech stack necessary while keeping the growing demand and future expansion in mind. Meeting the current demand wasn’t enough. We had to anticipate increasing users, new courses, and additional features.

Payment Gateway for Cross-Border Transactions
We had to implement third-party payment systems to allow for seamless cross-border transactions. This step included us assessing the existing platforms and shortlisting ones like PayPal and Stripe that had the best security features.

Robust Security Measures
We had to ensure that we implemented strong encryption for all user data, along with authentication protocols (JWT) to ensure secure logins and protect sensitive information.

Results

The collaboration between TuTopics and Brainium resulted in the creation of a superior e-learning platform. The client received an excellent software solution from us.
