Time rolls by fast! Seems like only yesterday that we were debuting on the pitch with our best players in their sporting gear at the annual 365 Oranges Cup. Well, that was 2020. Two years past, we have continued the tradition of being one of the lead participants at this Corporate Cricket Tournament, alongside our peers in the industry. Here’s a sneak peek at what went down at Brainium’s end during this year’s tournament.

How We Prepped?

As soon as the day and the schedule of the tournament were announced by the organizers, we spared no time in selecting the best players amongst Brainites. Lucky for us, the Brainium family has no shortage of people with cricket skills. With our line-up all set for the D-day, we started taking time off from the daily schedule for some early-morning net practice. In the meantime, Brainium got a call from the organizers for a Captain Meet.

The Captain Meet is a formal introduction and get-together of all the team captains participating in the tournament. The organizers walked us through the details. Brainium was placed in Group B including Exide, Mindtree, and TCG Lifesciences Trophy Fighters. Group A comprised IBM, Applied Research Works, TCG Digital, and TCG Lifesciences Terrific Hitters.

The venue, date, match timings, and playoffs were all set. The 18th Edition of the 365 Oranges Cup would take place at the Salt Lake FC Cricket Ground on 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th March 2022.

Match Day

Our first match was against TCF Lifesciences Trophy Fighters, followed by another face-off with Mind Tree on the 6th of March. On the 12th we played against Exide and IBM, coming out as the semi-finalists of the tournament.

Team Brainium put forth their best, practicing before the matches, taking the time off their busy schedules for net practice. Their effort and preparation were visible on the pitch as they faced off with the other teams, displayed amazing cricket skills; giving us some great wow moments throughout the matches.

On An Ending Note!

The 365 Oranges Cup Corporate Cricket Tournament epitomizes the spirit of camaraderie amongst corporate peers. The tournament gives us a venue away from board rooms, coding, and number crunching; to let off steam while upholding the value of sportsmanship and teamwork. It was a great experience to debut two years ago; it was even better this time around, and we look forward to participating again, with our bird’s eye view set on the 365 Oranges Cup.
